We recently hosted SWFL Inc.’s annual INCredible Awards luncheon, and I was humbled to be surrounded by some of our region’s most talented businesspeople. This community is full of optimism and ambition. The support and investment of our business community has helped make this region what it is today, and I can't thank them enough for their commitment to Southwest Florida’s prosperity.

Falon Tabares from the Healthy Earth Organization was awarded the INCredible Award, which is given to a graduate of Leadership SWFL who exemplifies the values of the program by demonstrating leadership, community stewardship and a desire to continue learning and growing professionally. The Innovation Award celebrates a small business that creates unique and forward-thinking solutions to address the needs of its clients and was presented to Presstige Printing.
The Nonprofit of the Year Award recognizes a nonprofit organization that is seen as a leader in the nonprofit sector. Better Together was selected as the winner, among a long list of nominees for its efforts in protecting children and preserving families by connecting them to safe and compassionate volunteers. This voluntary program is a preventative service that offers families in crisis the support needed to avoid foster care.
SWFL Inc. began presenting the Small Business of the Year Award in 2001 to recognize local businesses that go above and beyond to give back to the community. This year, the award was presented to Iron Ridge Insurance Services.
And for the first time, SWFL Inc. presented the Veteran-Owned Business of the Year Award, which celebrates a veteran-owned business that has demonstrated strong business performance and exemplifies significant contributions to Southwest Florida. Fire & Rice Paella earned the award for not only its dedication to supporting veterans but the local community.
Last but certainly not least, the SWFL Citizen of the Year was presented to Tom Hazell for his two decades of contributions and dedication to New Horizons of Southwest Florida. He received a standing ovation as he accepted the award.
