Thirteen area professionals have made the commitment to dive deeper and lead stronger in Southwest Florida by applying for Leadership SWFL, the region’s premier community immersion program dedicated to providing business professionals with a greater understanding of the community and creating a cohort of individuals ready to serve as effective leaders in the region. I’m proud to welcome the following individuals as the first members of Leadership SWFL’s Class of 2023:
- Justin O’Hara, Busey Bank
- Niki Mann, Florida Gulf Coast University
- Susan Frantz, Frantz Marketing Solutions
- Demarius Tookes, Joe The Home Pro
- Melissa Severance, Inspire Big Dreams
- Fekel Altimeaux, SWFL Lights
- Frank Wells, Bright Community Trust
- Jayce Bonilla, Bosses Lives LLC
- Katherine Kallas, Lee County Solid Waste
- Sharon Bruno, Fountain Health Insurance
- Bryan DuBon, Dentons Cohen & Grigsby, P.C.
- Jenny Parrish, SWFL Inc.
Founded in 1999, this program includes nine day-long sessions and an overnight retreat between May and December. Each session provides attendees with an in-depth look at a different aspect of Southwest Florida, from infrastructure to tourism, and more. Graduates will build essential relationships and foster a better understanding of the inner workings of Lee, Collier and Charlotte Counties. Not only does the program connect area leaders and provide them with a better understanding of how the region works, but it educates them on how they can get more engaged and make a bigger difference in the area.
We’re constantly expanding the reach of our trips and tours, but some of the most beloved tours the class takes include a back-of-the-house tour of the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, a tour of Punta Gorda Airport and even a behind-the-scenes look at the Bonita Springs Fire Control & Rescue District where participants try on gear, put out a controlled burn and even use the jaws of life.
If you are interested in these exclusive experiences, a big-picture view of our region and looking to grow your network, I hope you’ll apply for Leadership SWFL’s Class of 2023.
