Online Bidding is Open for Nonprofit’s “Hope is a Waking Dream” Auction

Naples, FL—March 4, 2021—New Horizons of SWFL introduces a new way to show support for at-risk K-12 students in our area: bidding is now open for “Hope is a Waking Dream,” a virtual auction taking place online at event.gives/newhorizons. The auction will run from March 1-19 and will have a direct impact on children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. These students attend New Horizons’ tutoring and mentoring programs. Although the annual spring luncheon and golf events had to be canceled, the virtual auction offers a way for an unlimited number of guests to take part in the auction and help New Horizons raise funds for tutoring & mentoring services. Members of the public can go to event.gives/newhorizons to see the latest items that are up for auction.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors such as Northern Trust; Amoré Jewelers, Roderick & Sue Price, John R. Wood Realtors; and Sanibel Captiva Trust Company, New Horizons has assembled an exciting catalogue of items. Bidding will take place in two groups: group one is live from March 1-10; group two is live from March 11-19. With two different groups of items, there will certainly be something for everyone! Items up for bid include: restaurant gift cards, gift baskets, wine, staycations and more. The students even pitched in to curate some of the items.

New Horizons Event Gives

“We are excited to offer a fundraising event in this unique way,” said Executive Director Linda M. Cunning. “At the luncheon we were limited with who could come because of space, but now anyone can join us no matter where they live. We hope we can share our message to a larger audience.”

Everyone is welcome to browse, shop or share to show their support for New Horizons at event.gives/newhorizons. Proceeds help New Horizons’ Super Kids and Teens receive homework help, mentorship and other tools to help them succeed.
