Desiree Cuenca has been promoted to Director of Marketing and Engagement at CMON.

NAPLES, Florida (July 15, 2021) – The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON) announces the promotion of Desiree Cuenca to Director of Marketing and Engagement.

In this role, Cuenca will oversee marketing, communications, volunteer services, and the gift store for the Museum. She joins CMON’s senior leadership team and will work closely with Senior Director of Play and Learning Beth Housewert and Executive Director Dena Rae Hancock.

Cuenca joined the company in 2020 as Marketing Manager and quickly rose to a Senior-level position.

“We are so excited to welcome Desiree, as she brings a wealth of experience to this important leadership position,” said Hancock. “She’ll be a vital part of bringing in new audiences and strengthening connections with our existing guests and partners across the Southwest Florida region.”

Cuenca, who began her 25-year career in the newspaper industry, spent over a decade in healthcare marketing at one of the largest healthcare organizations in California. Before moving to Florida, she held media relations roles with the University of California and a California commodity board.

She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and a marketing and communications graduate from California State University, Stanislaus. Desiree served as the Chair for a California Parks and Recreation Community Commission from 2005-2011. In addition, she is a certified Diversity Trainer and a graduate of two well-respected city leadership programs.

The Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples is a brain-building powerhouse and Southwest Florida’s first museum devoted for children and families to learn through play. With hands-on exhibit galleries, the accessible museum invites visitors of all ages to journey through the swamps of the Everglades, weave through a maze, climb a two-story banyan tree, or experiment with the water play station. Children can become a weather forecaster, a farmer, a chef, a fisherman, an artist, an architect or a veterinarian; explore the cold of an igloo, the whoosh of the wind, the sound of the sea, and the effects of gravity. Throughout the day special activities encourage our guests to get involved, try something new and be energized. CMON offers a variety of interactive exhibits providing kids with education, play, learning, science, technology, engineering, inventions, space exploration, art, math, storybooks, creation, building, sensory and child development.
