Summer Camp Returns at the Bonita Springs YMCA with New Opportunities

The Y Offers More Locations and Camp Options for YMCA Campers Starting in June

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (May 3, 2021) – The Bonita Springs YMCA will be offering new camp options and locations this summer for campers ages four through 15. Children will be introduced to as many new experiences and learning opportunities in a safe, secure and fun camping environment. This year, the Y has added many specialty and sports camps to expand beyond the traditional day camp activities, including the new Kinder-Camps which is designed to help 4 & 5 year olds prepare for their academic journey. Other new specialty camp options include archery, STEM, volleyball, pickleball, aquatics, Lego robotics and more.  Each YMCA camper will be provided with a free healthy, daily lunch and morning snack. The goal of the Y is to not turn anyone away because of financial limitations, financial assistance for summer camp is available. Families can visit the Bonita Springs YMCA or call 239-221-7560 to apply for scholarships.

The YMCA summer camp programs will be offered at four different locations, the Bonita Springs YMCA, Bonita Rec Center, Camp Estero, and now Three Oaks Middle School because of the new partnership between the Bonita Springs YMCA and Lee County Schools. With the new added locations, the goal is to offer children and families opportunities to learn, grow and thrive during the summer months at a nearby and convenient location for families.

“During our summer camps, campers will be able to engage with each other through many activities which lead to the development of teamwork skills, leadership skills, and friendships,” said Angel Cerritos, Bonita Springs YMCA Executive Director. “Campers will gain an understanding of the YMCA’s character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility during their unique summer experience.” The Y is now hiring summer camp role models to help provide a safe and fun experience for school age children.
