Bonita Chamber receives grant to support Career Compass

BONITA SPRINGS, FL (February 11, 2020) The Bonita Springs Area Chamber is excited to announce it will continue its successful Career Compass program through 2020 with support from a grant from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.

“We are so appreciative of this grant from the Southwest Florida Community Foundation,” said Tiffany Esposito, President and CEO of the Bonita Springs Area Chamber. “This financial support will help us expand our unique Career Compass program and connect even more local students with regional employers.”

Career Compass is a workforce retention program the Bonita Springs Area Chamber created in partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University to connect students with employers across Southwest Florida through informational interviews, mock interviews and networking opportunities.

“We created Career Compass in early 2019 because we realized there was a gap between local students preparing for careers, and employers right here in Lee and Collier County who want to hire new talent, and we wanted to connect them,” said Charles Stanisce, Membership Services Representative at the Bonita Springs Area Chamber.

“This is a great way for students to get real-world interview experience, and it’s helpful to the employers, who can connect with the future workforce through this program,” Stanisce said.
